Injury update?

I think you can add Asa as someone carrying an injury, though still playing - it looked like he expected to go off after 70 minutes v Barnet, and two games a week may be too much for him right now. I'd expect him to sit out either tomorrow or the Trophy game.

National league meeting

If for some bizarre reason Sutton win promotion will they take it? I remember a few years ago when they were doing well I heard they would not take promotion as they would have to rip up there plastic pitch which they would not be prepared to do. Does anyone know if this correct? I've no idea, but ...

Attendance against Eastbourne?

Chesterfield in the last game of the 2010/11 season as we made the League Two playoffs - 5002. Quite remarkable if we beat that this weekend.

The highest ever NLS attendance is 5,022 for Weymouth winning the title in 2006.

Boreham Wood v Torquay

Borehamwood site says 3pm, which makes more sense.

(Sorry, Gloomy Gull - just seen that you said that in your first post! It's got to be 3 I reckon)

The Play Offs

The biggest criticism of this I've heard is that it's hard for the highest seeded team to prepare for a game after a couple of weeks' break while the others fight it out amongst themselves; I seem to remember some rugby types moaning that this was actually a disadvantage. Personally, I don't think t...

Re: Next Weekend

I see it's going to be a week of staring at the table and working through scenarios in our heads; one of the remarkable features is that not only are there seven teams who could go down, for all but Aldershot it's in their own hands. The Colchester game is vivid in my mind too - especially the AFC f...

Re: Torquay United v Bradford City - 1/4/13

Well, that was throughly depressing. The performance on the pitch was thoroughly depressing. Bradford looked like they were fitter, and more awake, from the start, and our early lead felt like an unexpected gift - which is why it didn't last too long. It seemed inevitable they'd score from the free ...

I'm braving the worst of the Easter railway nonsense and will be down. It certainly feels like a must win, and will do so until about quarter to five...

Re: Play Off guaranteed ?

Ran into a couple of Oxford fans who explained that they were safe, just deliberately taking it easy and coasting into the playoffs (!) and that the important thing from yesterday was that they should have won. The attitude of this three-sided club with its fans who talk as if they have a long histo...

Re: How many Gulls on Monday?

I'd be surprised if we get that many given that budgets must be beginning to stretched. I shall be there, though, and I hope to see as many Gulls as possible lubricating vocal chords in and around the Priory before the game - it's usually been away fan friendly before if not after matches.

I remember that 1-0. Wasn't that the relegation season? Lulled by the adrenaline after what was an awful game we all sat in the pub & talked about how the team looked set for a good run...

Re: Lowest possible finish

Lowest position now 14th, and the site's frankly obscure mathematics is predicting we'll be 3rd at the end of the season.
