Torquay United v Weston-super-mare 2/3/19

On a different day with a bit of better fortune it would have been a 4-2 win. Main areas for disappointment being that as a team and including GJ we have played in these conditions and situations before and haven't learned from them. Conceding the first goal allows constant time wasting by the oppos...

New Year Reflections.

Look at the impact of those players brought in. Improved formation, more attacking intent, the settling of all players and I think significantly a level of confidence and experience that we've not seen for some time in our managers. We are in a great position with the Bristol City players as they ha...

Torquay United v Gloucester City - 29th Dec

Firstly regardless of the performance a win was the most important thing. Getting victories when your not playing at your best is vital. I thought yesterday that we created many chances and that was a positive. Sure we were wasteful in front of goal however the gulf in class between both teams was ...

Racism in Football

I was watching Borehamwood vs Leyton Orient on BT Sport on Saturday. A Leyton Orient player had been fouled and in the background the microphone picked up the Borehamwood player being racially abused by a Leyton Orient fan. I'd not heard this at a football match for a good 20+ years.

Torquayunited v Woking Fa Cup 1st round 10/11/18

First half we played well. Passing and movement good. A few chances created and a couple of good saves by their goalkeeper. Dubious penalty. Lemonheigh Evans played well supported by rest of midfield in first half. Probably tried to do too much in second half which slowed the movement of play down a...

Eastbourne Borough v Torquayunited 13/10/18

Jamie Reid didn't play badly or have a bad attitude or have a manager that didn't believe in him. He was a right footed player being played out of position with the majority of the Pop Side abusing him generally before he'd kicked a ball. He's now being played in a position that's more suited to his...

intellectualising about slavery..."it was still happening just over 20 years ago"....whilst typing away on devices full of 3TG conflict minerals, wearing clothes made by child slaves and in a country full of modern slavery.

Torquay United V Woking - 29/09/18

Great to see him being played in position and in the goals. he's had a tough time and endured some terrible abuse whilst being played out of position. Given that his demonstrated a fair amount of resilience and is coming back strong he's far from a snowflake.

Torquay United V Woking - 29/09/18

Yes, it's very easy to be over critical of Janneh's performance, he did miss a couple of sitters, but for me it's about the bigger picture, and about seeing what all of us fans sometimes miss. For a start he is a very young player, not sure how much senior football experience he has , it can't be a...

in fairness to Uberwozza San with no names on the back of the shirts the most practical way to identify a player is by their number.

FA Cup

My prognosis was more on management style than win ratio's. So the question posed is do you prefer: Johnson's 'play to win or Ower's 'play not to lose' I probably prefer an alternative way....play according to the situation. Game management during the game and take a pragmatic approach. I don't thi...

FA Cup

There is much optimism now among supporters for a good Cup run and promotion. A far cry from a few weeks ago. Why? A change in management? I would suggest its down to change in managerial motivational style e.g. Gary Johnson - promotion focused Gary Ower's - prevention focused Gary Johnson's promot...

On the basis of "if you don't like what you are seeing don't turn up" there would be no one there. Are you liking what you see? Are you enjoying the atmosphere?
