Clutching at straws...

Are there any straws left to clutch ? Trouble is Mo we cant beat teams in the bottom 7, one win so far v Barrow ? At least there is a chance of a goal now with Williams and Romain but the defence is going backwards, what chance do you have when you have conceded 3 in each of the last two home games

Re Balatoni Brucie, you are probably quicker than him too - think he is supposed to be 28

Torquay United v Sutton United - 20/02/18

But last nights team wasnt assembled by Nicholson, only Young, McGinty and Davis were not signed by Owers. Anyway you can get too wrapped up in systems, we lost last night because of not taking a good chance and by defensive errors which will happen with any system, not because of the referee, thoug...

Torquay United v Sutton United - 20/02/18

Owers doesnt have the players to play 4-4-2 . I dont think he wants to play 3-5-2 and I am sure he wont next season. You need hard working wide players who track back and can get forward and do damage eg Zebroski and Carlisle. Presumably he hasnt been able to get those sort of players and luxury pla...

I see in the programme countdown of our greatest players of all time, Kevin Nicholson was voted the 7th
best ever fullback, I dont think so , depends how old you are I suppose. Brian McGlinchey was 17th , think they
got them mixed up. Bill Kitchener number one for me

Stop the Rot

More than a possibility P78 , Owers is going nowhere in the summer, except on holiday I think people will come to watch regional football Mellow, there will be a lot more on a saturday afternoon next season if we are scoring goals and winning games than there will be at Plainmoor tomorrow night, but...

Torquay United v Dagenham and Redbridge - Matchday thread - 17/02/18

A couple more points on the game. Not totally convinced by Balatoni yet, I think he needs to sharpen up, looks a bit off the pace at times, not very good in the air either. Thought the new guy did ok. McGinty was back to hoofing yesterday after the previous few games when he was looking to pass the ...

Time to be Together if you “support “ Torquay United F.C.

I thought the crowd of 1931 yesterday was amazing and the vocal backing they gave the team in the second half was excellent. If the team had lifted their game and had a real go , the crowd would have responded even more. If we had won everyone would have been looking forward to tuesday and momentum ...

Torquay United v Dagenham and Redbridge - Matchday thread - 17/02/18

Quite agree Teigngull, 3 good performances and results gives you some hope again and then you get that
Back to reality, Dagenham were far better than us all over the pitch and made us look a very poor side

Torquay United v Dagenham and Redbridge - Matchday thread - 17/02/18

Well the glimmer of hope has been extinguished now, comprehensively outplayed today by a much better team Quite what Dagenham have been doing for the last 5 games I dont know. Stronger, quicker , sharper in thought and action. They were at us from the start and never let up, we kept giving the ball ...

Torquay United v Dagenham and Redbridge - Matchday thread - 17/02/18

Think I would be in favour of restoring the Williams Keating partnership up front with Reid in behind I still think with the right player up with him, Keating is a goal threat, but agree I think Owers will go for Reid Dagenham were lucky to beat us up there with that last minute penalty, lets hope w...
