Torquay United v Dagenham and Redbridge - Matchday thread - 17/02/18

A couple more points on the game. Not totally convinced by Balatoni yet, I think he needs to sharpen up, looks a bit off the pace at times, not very good in the air either. Thought the new guy did ok. McGinty was back to hoofing yesterday after the previous few games when he was looking to pass the ...

Time to be Together if you “support “ Torquay United F.C.

I thought the crowd of 1931 yesterday was amazing and the vocal backing they gave the team in the second half was excellent. If the team had lifted their game and had a real go , the crowd would have responded even more. If we had won everyone would have been looking forward to tuesday and momentum ...

Torquay United v Dagenham and Redbridge - Matchday thread - 17/02/18

Quite agree Teigngull, 3 good performances and results gives you some hope again and then you get that
Back to reality, Dagenham were far better than us all over the pitch and made us look a very poor side

Torquay United v Dagenham and Redbridge - Matchday thread - 17/02/18

Well the glimmer of hope has been extinguished now, comprehensively outplayed today by a much better team Quite what Dagenham have been doing for the last 5 games I dont know. Stronger, quicker , sharper in thought and action. They were at us from the start and never let up, we kept giving the ball ...

Whatever you say about Nicholson, he is certainly the most talked about Torquay manager in our history -
he just wont go away

Torquay United v Dagenham and Redbridge - Matchday thread - 17/02/18

Think I would be in favour of restoring the Williams Keating partnership up front with Reid in behind I still think with the right player up with him, Keating is a goal threat, but agree I think Owers will go for Reid Dagenham were lucky to beat us up there with that last minute penalty, lets hope w...

Current Form in the National League.

We need Sutton to play well and get a result on tuesday (Barrow) but not the following tuesday, we do need
Barrow , Hartlepool, Halifax to drop points (and hope 47/ 48 may be enough) or they could easily get away from us
with a couple of wins

Maidenhead v Torquayunited 10/2/18

I do think Nicholson was unlucky to lose Gowling and Davis through injury for those early games. We looked solid in the first game against Tranmere 0-0 with Gowling in defence, then he misses the next 3 of Nichos games and we ship 3, 3, and 4. Chaney at left back was disastrous too. Certainly dont t...

Maidenhead v Torquayunited 10/2/18

We must take advantage of the Maidenhead situation and go all out for the 3 points, with Barrow v Hartlepool off , if we can win and Solihull get a point only at Ebbsfleet, we will be 4 points off safety, ok others will have games in hand but teams at the bottom dont usually win games in hand and th...

The squad as it stands.....

Is Myrie Williams still here ? If so seems it was quite a long short term contract, what a waste of money Apparently we have 24 players, still about 4 or 5 too many, I suppose some are permanent sick notes though the biggest seems to be Pittman. A lot of work for Owers in the summer and he has to ge...

Attendances and the next generation of fans

Reading Hectors post, that 79/80 first half of the season was probably the best football since the late sixties and until Leroys team. Tommy Sermannis goalscoring runs into the box from midfield were incredible. His late winner in the Boxing Day game v Newport was the best individual goal I have see...

Survival: Could we do it?

Its not just Barrow we have to catch though, the others are not just going to give up, Solihull are in play off form 4 wins and a draw in the last 5 and 6 points clear of us with a game in hand. It is possible but highly unlikely, we would need an incredible run of form and as you say must beat the ...

Torquay United v Barrow 3/2/18

Well its only a glimmer and only then if you think we can stay up with about 47 pts. We are not going to get 50 thats 8 wins out of 14, 2 draws and 4 defeats or 7 wins 5 draws 2 defeats
