So why not sack him before the season started?

Stop the Rot

This will probably cause a shit storm, but I have wondered about it. Suppose the Bristows had never put their money into the club. Is it possible that in 2007 the club would have had to put in place a business plan that was sustainable. I know this means that we would probably have never got back in...

Probably nostalgia wasn't the correct word, but a limited secondary modern education leaves me bereft of the vocabulary to find the right word.
By the way concur with five of your bullet points.

Blame Mr Harrop - he started it. "These guys tick all the boxes for us" and I quote “It has been important for us to find the individuals who... can adopt our plan for sustainable success and can bring the talent, experience and contacts that are key... to climb and top the National League". Really...

As a player I loved him - as a manager I am ambivalent. However he seems to get more vitriol than Dave Webb - who I know little about what he did to TUFC but sends my father in law into an apoplectic fit just at the mention of his name. I think a lot of that can be put down to the passage of time. ...

Do you seriously think that Owers has given more money than that original budget then you are more loony than Martin Ling.
As much as I am against the creation of sacred cows at this club, that was a little uncalled for.

I don't think Merse's pension would stretch to that.

Survival: Could we do it?

Its all very well saying prepare for next season but that would mean Owers was still in situ. Even if we survived I do not think he should keep the job. Also we don't which of our players would want to stay. I can't see young or McGinty staying if they given the chance elsewhere.

The Halifax forums on Thursday were saying nico would be unveiled as manager in 48 hours. Southampton said nico was down to the last 3 applicants.
Now its down to 10 applicants to be announced this\next week.

Current Form in the National League.

Regionalise the NL for a start. Cut down on travel substantially and virtually eliminate the requirement to stay over in hotels. Alas that won't happen. The whole point of the alliance/conference/national league was to have a single division and thus single champion who could apply for election to ...

Current Form in the National League.

There is always a risk taking on a club like Guiseley. Despite all their ambitious they clearly have been punching above their weight. Crowd size still equals playing budget in some locations. Guiesley going full time was surely an unsustainable decision on their attendances, 543 last night. Guisel...
