Boycott

When I first saw the thread title I assumed it was a call to organise a mass boycott (the actual meaning of the term). Instead it was an individual saying why he wasn't attending anymore (apparently he would rather see Buckland lose at home rather than Torquay). Given the misleading title he shouldn...

Very confused - what is GI's game?

I'm all in favour of demolishing greyhound stadia so in that respect i like Osborne. If you want to race greyhounds then fine, just make sure once they can't earn you anymore money that you look after them and don't pass them on. As nobody does this then yes, go Clarke! Right behind you man! I'd ra...

When I began going in the 70s the ground was unsegregated and you could go in the popular side, ellacombe end and babbacombe end from any of the turnstiles. However I seem to remember that in front of the grandstand was a kind of paddock which had a turnstile by the entrance to it and you had to cou...

Masters is a tosser.
For all the crap aimed at masters on this forum, wouldn't you rather have him as owner than Clark Osbourne ?

Before the benches were added what kind of supporter went in there ? Did kids go into the main grandstand ? Also the bit on either side of the mini stand where people stood when did that go ? When was the mini stand built ? The mini stand regulars for the most part were teenagers and younger kids. ...

Memories of plainmoor

If I remember correctly the mini stand was just concrete steps with crush barriers. I believe the benching was added after the loss of seating in the old grandstand after the 1985 fire. Also from about 1980 the mini stand had a fence erected in front of it. This was an absurd decision because the ca...

Gary Owers - The Truth!

The coastline Sherpa van final shirt was the only replica shirt I ever bought, thought it was very good quality and I wore it for years until the thing wouldn't fit anymore.
I seem to remember buying it in a pop up shop on the corner of union st and market st in the week before the final.

5:10ish. Decide for yourself
Nope. 100% didn’t, you can see it from the replay that it’s on the line, but not over it
Spot on. The replay CLEARLY shows the ball did NOT cross the line.

James Gray &Jamie Reid

No I don't think its a fluke. I think its a case of Owers identifying the player's strength and weaknesses and deploying him accordingly. The contract may however given Reid a boost because it showed the manager had confidence in him after many fans, unfairly in my opinion, seemed to pick him out fo...

Delighted by Jamie Reid’s response to my challenge. He now needs to continue in the same vein
I think the credit belongs to Gary owers. Although I'm sure Jamie would like to thank you personally for your words of encouragement.

Its just as well we did sign Reid because if we hadn't and with him now hitting form I could have seen Exeter taking him back especially now they seem to have hit a rut.

Ebbsfleet United v Torquay united 24/10/17

Wasn't there tonight but was at Halifax, so I can only envisage the same work rate, team work and commitment that I saw Saturday. Why the upturn in recent results? It has to be the man-management of the players for sure. We have a management duo that know what they are doing. Not many on here slaggi...

FC Halifax Town v Torquay United, Match Day Thread, 21st October 2017

This Forum is sometimes referred to as the Kiddies Forum by the TFF lot which is not justified in my opinion. However, since the re-instatement of one particular self-opinionated individual, I feel the Forum has degenerated into the Nasty Forum. It has put me off logging in as often as I used to an...

Are GI selling the club

The way I read it was that GI were going to sell the club within a year of taking over from the start. Presumably they thought they would have the freehold by now, and would act as landlord to the club and its new owners. The implications of this are obvious. As Jon said on TFF the accounts have onl...
