The Play Offs

If it is to be argued that the play offs are unjust then our promotion in 2009 was unjust and we didn't deserve to take our place in the football league.

The Play Offs

The play-offs are great, and I'm quite surprised that support for them isn't higher. They keep the season alive for a lot of teams for a lot longer, and for that reason alone are worthwhile. If you are mid table at Christmas, as by definition the most teams are, you aim to scrape into the play-offs...

F A Trophy

After the 2nd round the games are on saturdays so if you reach the semis 4 postponements to fit in midweek plus any you lose to the weather and you have a problem esp with a squad the size of ours ! The same applies to the FA cup, but nobody would suggest we deliberately ditch that, although we hav...

More a feeling of get knocked out of this tournament ASAP. The last 2 winners have been relegated That's a pathetic comment. The whole point about sport is to compete. When teams deliberately field weakened sides in cup competitions they are both disrespecting the game and the supporters who pay to...

Whinge, Moan, Rant And Anything Else Put It Here ...

To hate blacks is, obviously, to be racist. But to hate the white Caucasian race? And to actively plot for its extinction? Sounds a bit far-fetched. So I decided to investigate. Seems it has something to do with the EU. And with the recent waves of immigrants and refugees from Africa and the middle...

If GI fail getting the freehold...

Nobody has mentioned the "T" word yet on this thread. I would but I might be labelled a militant again  I would wait and see what the outcome is before we start discussing community ownership again. It would be a whole new ball game and probably very different to last time when TUST were strun...

Keeping Our Eye on the Ball

Islington 'snobbery' row over plan to cut football pitch for picnics Opposition from a “small group” of people persuaded the council to submit plans to redevelop the park with a much smaller pitch, well away from the gardens of residents including Labour’s Emily Thornberry, who is seeking to retain...

If GI fail getting the freehold...

Even if GI weren't the only possible buyers at the time, who is to say that other potential owners wouldn't have also have had designs on the freehold. I would have thought it was near impossible to turn a non league/lower league football club into a profitable business, so unless the potential owne...

If GI fail getting the freehold...

They could allow the club to slide towards Administration rather than dissolve in the first instance, but that would mean they would be forced to accept in the region of 10p in the pound or less for their original investment. So GI would be forced to pay themselves 10% of their original investor? A...

If GI fail getting the freehold...

The important thing to realise is this. If GI fail to get the freehold of plainmoor then there is still somewhere for a football team representing the town of Torquay to play. It doesn't matter if it is TUFC or a reincarnation, the fact is we will still have a football ground. If we fail to protect ...

Expectations for next season

Merse is sometimes controversial, possibly deliberately so. But what he does is give vitality and energy to both this forum and his own. By his contribution he gets people interested and logging on even if they themselves do not contribute to the debate, and this is very important. We need people li...

Expectations for next season

So far the majority of people responding to the poll have gone for the mid table options. I wonder if this not actually their expectation, but their hope for next season given that so far we do not have a single shred of evidence that our squad will be any better than last seasons.

Season tickets

GI are property developers. They care about the freehold of the stadium and nothing else. If it suits their agenda for the club to be successful, then it will happen, regardless of whether supporters buy season tickets or not. If it suits their agenda for the club to fail and falter, then it will h...
