Torquay United v Leyton Orient thread

Be a really nice touch for the yellow army to sing some Martin Ling songs today as no doubt he'll be in the ground as part of the backroom staff. Be a bit classy that, unlike the morons that sacked him in such unceremonious circumstances whilst he was Torquay boss. Regarding the game. Torquay are in...

Sutton united V Torquay United 21/11/17

'Fraid no lucky charms will help tonight. Predict 2-0 defeat and another nail in the coffin. Another defeat and wins for Barrow and Orient would see the club needing 5 wins to get out of the bottom 4 as it stands. Not taking into account the points that the teams above will accumulate during those ...

NL Coats and Barrow fans as zombies!

Also those coats make Micky Mellon and Paul Cox look like inflatables. Not helped it has to be said by the alarming increase in rotundness of each of their faces. I don't think Steve Bruce can hang on to the unwanted title of 'most buoyant face in football' any longer.

Does passion come before or after?

..................the cigarette? Only joshing. Serious post here which is a surprise considering who is posting it. I want to know when you first became aware of your passion for Torquay United. This is aimed at fans who have not been born and brought up in the area or fans however locals als...

NL Coats and Barrow fans as zombies!

Are these horrific bright blue JAKO garments that every NL manager and assistants seem to wear compulsory? I find it weird that they are all wearing the damn things and they aren't flattering. If i were a manager i'd be binning it off straight away. In addition to NL weirdness. Upon watching the hig...

HELP

Thanks Paul. I'm amazed quite frankly that you even received a response from anyone at the club. They don't respond to disabled people asking for help as i know myself so to get a reply must mean they are interested. Interested until it gets to the powers that be who then subsequently decide that th...

The Gaffer

Thanks to CO, the one thing any new manager didn't have was time. Owers needed to come in, hit the ground running and nick a few wins whilst simultaneously striving to improve the squad and performances. That hasn't happened sadly and now he's in the quicksand trying to keep his head above the sand,...

National League Attendance Table.

Interesting that York's crowds are holding up despite being in the NLN and struggling in there tbh. They got 2,500 home fans v Kiddy yesterday which is remarkable all things considered. I say its interesting as York had similar attendances in the football league as Torquay yet they are able to retai...

The Gaffer

Let's not forget the real culprit in all this. Clarke Osborne. First of all that month or so he stalled when deciding who to appoint as replacement for Nico was very costly indeed. Secondly he appointed Owers instead of a proven league manager who was used to firefighting and could get the club away...

AFC Fylde v Torquay United 18/11/17

Cannot believe you are losing to a side with Lewis Montrose (ex York) in the middle. He has the turning circle of a cruise liner and the speed of an earthworm. On top of that he can't play footy. Unbelievable. Doing well Owers, top job mate. Torquay aren't rubbish anymore. It's going to become his m...

AFC Fylde ticket information

As over a hundred people have read this and not even been arsed to leave a 'thank you' then i'll do it on their behalf. Thanks for the info and at £13 (you could charge more and get it IMO) but at £13 to stand i think it's great that you aren't ripping the fans off either so well done AFC Fylde! Ar...

At least if we had the walruses we wouldnt be toothless in attack......
Get through a hell of a lot of balls though i'm sure. Especially when going up for headers.

Should be renamed Tuskey United.

Thanks Matt. I appreciate your reply. I also was a fervent supporter of TUFC and given football is my 'narrow interest' as the autism experts prefer to call our obsessions, believe me it hurt like buggery when i was put in a position when i had to decide whether to carry on supporting or cut ties.
