Torquay United v Sutton United - 20/02/18

The difference between winning and losing is a solid back four. We had three and the three did not slide over to cover the fullbacks when they've gone forward. The fullbacks want to run with the ball instead of passing the ball you don't want defenders taking players on in the penalty box. Scoring t...

Torquay United v Sutton United - 20/02/18

HARROP is the problem here. Spent just over 4 weeks looking for a manager and then spent 30k on buying out a mediocre manager from the league below. We were poor before and yet 6 months later we are no better off. Owers is completely out of his depth and yet continues to be supported by the owners....

Torquay United v Dagenham and Redbridge - Matchday thread - 17/02/18

I thought that Daggers were the best side but we could have done better by playing one of the strikers to the left to try and block their very strong right side. I also thought Reid should have finished the chance he had in the first half and would have preffered Keating up front. It's no good moani...

Super Kev To You

Best of luck if he's got the job but take an experienced assistant with you as you need one. I think you are everything westyorkshiregull says but you need to take more interest in the things on the pitch as that is what you should be judged on.

Torquay United v Dagenham and Redbridge - Matchday thread - 17/02/18

despite the Gowling injury and Romain being eligible i think we need to stick to the same formation for consistency -------------------------Dorel Davis ---Balatoni -- McGinty -- Efete --- Barnes ------Lemonheigh-Evans Young Dowling ---------------------Reid Williams Concerning though if we get a d...

Talking Torquay

If Romaine is not eligible on Saturday I hope Owers does not fall into the trap of playing Ried as he should ask Williams who he'd like to partner him. :-D

Maidenhead v Torquayunited 10/2/18

I do think Nicholson was unlucky to lose Gowling and Davis through injury for those early games. We looked solid in the first game against Tranmere 0-0 with Gowling in defence, then he misses the next 3 of Nichos games and we ship 3, 3, and 4. Chaney at left back was disastrous too. Certainly dont ...

Maidenhead v Torquayunited 10/2/18

I have felt all along if Williams had stayed we would have had a good season now we've got to hope it's not to late. Well done everyone.

Whitehawk great escape more important to Owers?

Looks as though Chaney and Benyon had a good weekend as well Whitehawk beating Weston 5-0 Chaney is better than some of the players we've had here.

Torquay United v Barrow 3/2/18

The team did what they had to do against a very aggressive Barrow side. We still look a little brittle at the back but the midfield and up front are the best they have been for a long time. Young back to his best and Dowling who I feel has not been back to fitness since his injury but is now getting...

The questions that Plainmoor 78 is asking need not have been asked if Nicholsons had not been in charge at the start of this season
and the survival team may have been a better base to build a side as I believe we would have had a goalscorer still at the club.

Bath is situated better than Torquay for players I watched Bath when Owers was manager and they were nothing special in pre-season but he knows the game.
It's down to what players Owers can get and things are looking up although you don't believe Williams can help us Dave.

Brett is Back!!

With Bret it's all about getting two players up front. A 4-3-1-2 or 3-5-2 if we had him a couple of months ago we would have been a lot better off. Best of luck tomorrow but I think we need another centre half.

Brett is Back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kuhl and Owers have worked with him and know his game I just hope they give Reid a rest now. This was Nicholsons biggest mistake during the close season not getting him on contract.
