Fa Cup 4th qualifying round Aldershot v Torquay 14/10/17

Nicholson, Owers, Herrera, Hargreaves, O'Farrell - it probably doesn't matter because we're all playing along to Clarke Osborne's tune. The club is owned by a multi-million pound organisation, yet this pretty big club for the level we are at, is even worse off than it was under the David Phillips r...

Jamie Reid (again, probably)

I'm pretty sure Dave (Forever TUFC) commenting on here a few times about how he thought Bodin did have quality and could play at a higher level, perhaps with a team doing well, playing an attractive brand of attacking positive football, playing to his strengths and not relying on him and him alone....

Fa Cup 4th qualifying round Aldershot v Torquay 14/10/17

Last Tuesday showed what they can achieve and last Saturday showed what they are more than likely to produce when they revert to type. It's much too simple to compare the two games - and yes, I was at both. Maidenhead were poor on the night - probably affected by the long journey down to Devon and ...

Fa Cup 4th qualifying round Aldershot v Torquay 14/10/17

We lost at Aldershot in the league (second match of the season) 3 - 2 by a controversial goalmouth scramble. We might just spring a surprise and get a draw ...... Always look on the bright side !

Are you trying to say that only those who are at the game can then comment on an Internet forum? There will be occasions (as there have been in the past) when I am at the game and you will not be. Will that preclude you from commenting? Yes - you are absolutely correct. I never post on games I have...

This is a forum for differing points of view; that is mine. I do not post for the sake of boosting Luke Young's or anyone else's ego. You always seem to take the point of view that no-one must be critical, forums must be a cheerleading exercise and that nobody's feelings must be hurt.......I'll tel...

Torquay v Dover Saturday 7/10/17

What Dover did was to be far more clinical than us in both boxes. That was the primary difference between the two sides. I suppose I watch games through the eyes of a former South Devon League defender, about Div 6. Dover's defending and support of each other was quite superb - they didn't really n...

With all due respect to Dover - they might jet down on a plane but we should be able to compete with them. They are hardly a team of world beaters - Christ they struggled against Solihull and Guiseley recently. For me probably our most disappointing result of the season. One shot on target and we s...

You build from the bottom up, not the top down

This is all very well, but clearly B.W. have the right people driving this forward - TUFC clearly haven't. The other thing I noticed was that Hertsmere Borough Council contributed £70,000 towards the project. We'd be lucky to get a contribution of 70p from Torbay Council for anything similar. Also, ...

Torquay v Dover Saturday 7/10/17

Maybe the team were jaded after a tough Saturday/Tuesday and also a bit 'heavy legged' because there has been so much catching up to do because of the last regime's appalling fitness levels....... Nothing to do with fitness levels. We were soundly beaten by a physically stronger and superbly organi...

Torquay v Dover Saturday 7/10/17

Let's face it - we were beaten by a far better team. Strong, well organised and good movement off the ball - they were well in control for 90% of the match. If we'd lost 4 - 0, we couldn't have complained. Their defence was very solid. Dazza is right - we had just ONE shot on target - a free kick fr...

MOTM - Dover

Luke Young - easily our best player Josh Gowling - solid in central of defence Liam Davis - a very good player, but was beaten by a tricky winger a few times Ryan Higgins - Linked up well with Jamie Reid but better going forward than defending Vincent Dorel - simply for dealing well with several tes...

The Apprentice for Torquay United

I can't believe what I'm reading !!! Was it only two weeks ago that I was reading on here that all those close season signings were useless injury-prone crocks? Now they're good enough or very good signings. Ah - fickle fans !! Not that I'm suggesting Portugull or Monkeyboy said they were useless si...

I stroked the wrong key. My prediction is for Gowling to score.

Ray
And Allen is .....?
Allen is a Dover player, hence the scoreline of 1-1
I thought it was something to do with the wrong Key he stroked ..........

I have predicted a 3-0 for Warrington, Mr. nwyellow.
And I bet you get that prediction wrong as well, Wivel. It will be 2 - 2 ........ ;-)
