Torquay United v Dagenham and Redbridge - Matchday thread - 17/02/18

Whilst we were enduring a torrid afternoon at Plainmoor, Wivel's Whitby Town were beating Nantwich Town 2 - 1 to move towards mid-table in the Evostik North. Up the Seasiders !! Wivel - what has happened to the Jarrow Roofing lad who was at Plainmoor for a short time? I haven't noticed his name on t...

Time to be Together if you “support “ Torquay United F.C.

I'm not sure who you think claps the team off, from where I was yesterday, half the fans had already left by the time the whistle went. Why should we not go and watch our football club if we've paid for our season ticket? should we only go when we're winning? Osborne is not the savior, I don't thin...

Survival: Could we do it?

We are one point ahead of my route to survival...just saying ;) Most of us like to look ahead and make predictions. I know I do. But I remember Forever Dave posting last season that football is so unpredictable that it's a futile exercise. And he was proved correct because there were some crazy res...

Presumably cause Nicholson ....... visits people in hospital? Of all the jibes made, this was the cheapest shot and I'm surprised you have chosen to repeat it, Brucie. As I posted months ago, anyone with first-hand knowledge of a Hospital Children's Ward will know how much children love to be visit...

MOTM - Dagenham

Luke Young - for usual 100% effort despite being crowded out in midfield Vincent Dorel - scratching around for anyone else, but I don't think he could be held to account for any of the goals. His distribution was not good - presumably, he was instructed to clear the ball upfield as far as possible -...

Torquay United v Dagenham and Redbridge - Matchday thread - 17/02/18

Mellow Yellow's yesterday's after-match summary was spot on. Don't blame the players (even though some of the basics like passing to a team mate were sadly lacking). We were out manouvred by the experienced John Still who played five across the misfield. This blocked our attacking full backs and lef...

Good balanced post. He did get a right back (Higgins) who has been absent for personal reasons - it was the left back (Davis) who was out for a while that was a useful addition when he returned. Some of the players that Nicholson nurtured, like Young and McGinty, have been consistent performers (de...

Hopefully he will take some of the 'sicknote' rubbish he signed for us to you and get you relegated instead of us..... and look out for tractor tyre marks on the pitch! Shayman - ignore this post. If you have wasted your life away and ploughed through the plethora of posts from this Forum me...

Could Maidstone be a contender? Their last league win was on November 11th, a 1-0 win over .....Torquay.
On Madgull's survival thread, I posted that Maidenhead could be a contender for relegation. I meant to post Maidstone. Too many maids ...... :D

So Guiseley have sacked Paul Cox- where do they expect to find a better replacement? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43058647 Agree. A ridiculous decision. Good news for us, though. We can now expect Guiseley to be relegated along with Chester and probably Barrow. We just have to make sure we'r...

Current Form in the National League.

After today's games we now have 6 Clubs in the bottom 9 who have failed to win a single game out of the last 5 fixtures. They are Maidstone,Halifax, Hartlepool,Barrow,Chester and Guiseley. Also Dagenham have lost 5 in a row and are due at Plainmoor next Saturday. Guiseley have also lost 5 in a row....

Myles Anderson departs

Myles Anderson has taken some flak this season, but fans are quick to forget how well he played towards the end of last season and formed a good central defensive partnership with Sean McGinty. He was one the players who started this season on the injured list and I think he played when he wasn't fu...

Torquay United v Barrow 3/2/18

Yes - a vital win yesterday that gives us a glimmer of hope. It's the hope that kills, as Louis posts. The first half was dire - two very poor sides. But as soon as we scored, the confidence seemed to surge through the team and we actually started playing as a team and looking good as well. Luke You...
