Plainmoor is my Mecca

This is a long shot, I know, but can anyone help me get to Plainmoor for Saturday from Manchester? The only thing standing in my way is public transport prices.... I have a gut instinct that this will make the difference between us staying up and going down (he says). I'd love to be there, and I know there's some Gulls present in the North West area. I'll provide good company for the journey and a generous contribution to petrol fees. I'll travel to a nearby location for a lift. Birmingham, Nottingham, Bristol for example. Please step forward if you are my hero. Come on, don't be shy. Show the kind of spirit that we need to keep us in the football league. You cannot go wrong. Everyone's a winner. Enough of the cliches, please..... PLEASE.

I've grown up in Torquay supporting the Yellows, shunning all other teams and premier league tv b*llox. Help out a brother yellow.

Re: Paul Bristow song?

I love this idea and personally think SteveDeckchair's line fits very well.

Bristow,
They built a stand in your name,
You made our club rise again,
You're with us watching the game....

I never bet on Torquay. It just feels wrong. Poor result today.

Re: 10 games in, what do you think?

Chris B you stole my thunder. Damn work got in the way as I was making a similar post to you. The point being...

We have got some of the toughest away fixtures out the way already. Fleetwood, Port Vale, Rotherham, Chesterfield. One defeat from these 4 games. On top of that, one from the 10 in total. Surely this will prove important later on in the season. Of course providing we get the most from the 'easier' fixtures. Which given my faith in the current set up...........

We seem to have a nice balance at the moment, wouldn't want expectations too high (despite me seemingly raising them with this post... Er... :scarf: )

Re: Great Come Backs of the past

My fondest memory, in terms of comebacks, is the Blackpool match. It was August bank holiday Monday, but absolutely lashing it down. I was beginning to accept defeat only for Eifion to show up and smash in two dramatic goals to suddenly, out of nowhere, steal a victory. Manic celebrations followed, to the extent that I managed to even forget there was a streaker just minutes before.

:O

Agree with most of the above. :goodpost: I'm not concerned. We're progressing nicely.

I think we will win at Hereford and go up in the playoffs.

It's still in our hands, we just need to win 12-0

Re: Torquay United v Crewe Alexandra - 28/4/12

Put it this way.

We can win - and win comfortably - at Hereford. We then have momentum going into the playoffs with performances today and against Hereford. We can also likely be facing Crewe in the playoffs. Against whom we have proved today we can compete.

It's all ifs and maybes. Hopefully we won't need the playoffs anyway. Hopefully upsetting Crawley will be enough incentive for Accy.

We can't have been that bad. Crewe are one of the form teams in the division.

Re: Torquay United v Crewe Alexandra - 28/4/12

It's not all doom and gloom that Hereford have something to play for.

What makes you think we can't beat a Hereford team with something to play for. We also have something to play for. And, if you're to believe the league table, we're a bit better than them.
