Players who made you smile

If you want a positive reminiscence of players, take a look at this:

Unfortunately none have even really warranted discussion in recent seasons in my view!

List of Players who were rubbish with us, but have gone on to be good

Indeed; Sako never hit the top flight in Germany. Re Sow, he looked so promising in the first home game I think it was, against Notts County. Also decided to take the trip to the consecutive away matches at Oxford and Mansfield - Oxford was quite a close game but Mansfield was an absolute car crash...

List of Players who were rubbish with us, but have gone on to be good

Any excuse to mention Morike Sako and Mamadou Sow. Flashes of brilliance from both, but not what was needed in the ability-limited side that Leroy built upon our relegation from L1. Sako of course ended up playing in the second tier in Germany for Arminia Bielefeld and St Pauli (I don't think he ev...

List of Players who were rubbish with us, but have gone on to be good

He did have a spat with Benyon. It's my overriding memory of Barnes' time in the yellow shirt. Cannot believe he's made it to the top flight, but fair enough - don't imagine he's done it without hard work and sacrifices!

Torquay v Dover Saturday 7/10/17

Sounds like we are back to square one, then. And now, 10 days with 3 consecutive away games - Aldershot in the cup, Halifax the following weekend and then Ebbsfleet on the Tuesday. Three very tough assignments which I'm not sure we'll get much out of. All of a sudden we're looking extremely perilous...

Torquay United v Maidenhead, Match Day Thread 03/10/17

Lets also not forget that some of those Maidenhead players would possibly have done half a days work in the morning before the game, before travelling down for 5 hours or however long it took them. Add in the extremely limited warm up and prep, and it's no surprise they were slow out of the blocks. ...

Highest and lowest TUFC away support.

Believe we sold our allocation of 1250 at Hereford. Also remember it well but for negative reasons - the complete bottle job which saw us 3-0 down at half time. Pulled two back quite early in the second half, but then Crawley scored which rendered our result pointless (for us anyway). The Nick Powel...

Highest and lowest TUFC away support.

The official number at PAFC that day was 1938 in the away end. If I remember rightly some were shut out while a few more went in the home ends (which were also close to selling out). All in I'd be surprised if it did reach 2500, but even so, what a day! Some change in 5.5 years hey... For me, the be...

St Lukes Cup vs Cullompton Rangers

The last time the men's team won was February 2016 at Macclesfield in the FA Trophy. Not won in the FA Cup sine November 2011 - a 3-1 win at Chesterfield.

Management options

I urge you all to read about Westley's past - his spell at Farnborough - and what happened afterwards. I've put a link on the previous page. To me, I just get a very negative feel of vultures circling, looking for their part of the kill. Judging by this thread so far I'm in the minority, though. I ...

Management options

It does not sit comfortably with me that we will be appointing a man who has played a big part in the death of a club in the past - let alone if he's bringing some shared ownership to the place too. All of this is rumours at the moment, of course, but the last club he was owner of was liquidated not...

He has a decent win percentage, he isn't popular - so f@!@king what!!! I have previously said that I would rather an unpopular successful manager than a nice one in the Conf South..... I think given our league position and the toxic atmosphere at the club this isn't a bad appointment. So what if he...

For me, its more the fact he effectively kicked Farnborough down the hill towards liquidation by taking a chunk of money and running off with it. Okay, they did hang on a for years after he left, but they seemingly never recovered from his spell there.

Up there with Fat man Evans for me, in terms of managers I never want near Torquay United. Sounds like he'd be a great fit for GI though. http://twohundredpercent.net/100-owners-number-75-graham-westley-farnborough-town/ Searle later commented that, “There was a reported £500,000 made out of the Ars...

The Trust

Supporters denigrating the Trust piss me off. The Trust tried bloody hard to get things going and it wasn't because of the Trust that we are in this position. It was because of the sodding apathy of supporters, swallowing the David Thomas spun line that the Trust was nothing more than a glorified S...
