Striker

Herald Express are describing him as a mystery French striker......
Regardless I don't think it is Manset either.

We are at that desperate stage now where we are pinning all our hope on a trialist who scored twice in a reserve friendly (one of which was a pen!).

Striker

Slight corection to my last post, Damon Lathrope scored from a free kick and 'trialist striker' scored from a penalty. There is a video to watch, showing stills from the game - which don't actually tell us much unless you're a Robins fan! http://www.gloucestershirelive.co.uk/all-about/cheltenham-to...

Torquay United v Maidstone United 11/11/17

50 points we have absolutely no chance without goal power. We go 1 down at home and it's game over. Exactly. Defensively we have a chance now but without a goalscorer we are as good as relegated. It is crazy to let the guy most likely to be able to hit the net leave whilst we have Murphy and Pittma...

He needs to be up and running asap after what I witnessed at left-back on Saturday.

I feel a bit sorry for Anderson as he is form is dire currently and he is as far from a natural left back as you could possibly imagine. However they approach it he simply cannot play there again.

Torquay United v Macclesfield Town, Match Day Thread 23/9/17

Let's not fool ourselves - that was a performance from a team destined for relegation. The new players in from Owers (Mquoid aside) were completely off the pace. McGinty kicks the ball long and straight back to the opponent every time. Reid tried but nothing more than that, Did Murphy actually play?...

Mcquoid looked alright
Gowling did his job

Just awful apart from that. I don't like to highlight individuals but on this occasion I have to say Murphy was simply missing and Anderson.....well he is not good enough for pub football at left-back.

Owers yet to sign a contract.....

From a BBC news story today "Former Bath boss Owers was appointed by Torquay on 13 September and is yet to sign a contract, although he told BBC Sport he has agreed a deal with the club." http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41307365 Well - why not? Took four weeks to sort out a managerial replacemen...

You'd think (hope) that for fringe players like Fallon and Anderson last night was their last chance to 'shine' in front of the new boss.
Some might say that was were their level.....

Just like preseason games this counts for nothing other than getting a few players who needed minutes some match fitness. I see there were appearances from a striker/winger called Ashford Dawkins, Utility player Wes Atkinson (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wes_Atkinson) and former Yeovil youth player...
