Re: Torquay United v Barnet

And saying we were on top they have just had a spell of pressure, bobby just punched clear from a good cross, Ellis and Robbo playing well. Barnet just had a shot which bobby held on to as Mccloud was closing in

Re: Torquay United v Barnet

Very open game at the moment, Howe just had one cleared off the line..by senda , the commentators are saying we are begining to put some pressure on, but have to keep back door shut as the are quick on the break

Re: FA Cup: Sheffield United vs Torquay United

I agree I think it was the nature of their first goal, and the timing that killed us, I honestly believed that if we could have held on for another 5 mins there crowd would have started to get at them, all though given how quiet they were I am not too sure!!!

As I made a late decision to go I travelled up and back on my own, first time not either gone on a coach on in a car full, and was pleasently surprised at the reaction the Torquay shirt got at the various service stations , from the 4 Wimbledon fans on the way up wishing us luck, to the Swansea, Villa and Man U. Fans on the way back ( I didn't leave Sheffield till later ) who were asking how we got on etc. wondering if that's the experience of other gulls fans when the travel ?

Re: FA Cup: Sheffield United vs Torquay United

McPhee not for me he is more of an attack minded player, this position calls for a defensive mindset. This is why I would prefer a defender in that role. But without diisrupting our present back 4.

Re: FA Cup: Sheffield United vs Torquay United

How about this for a replacement .. LRT ? Can tackle, got a good engine, quick..okay limitations are there in respect of his passing , but if he is under instructions to keep it simple.. Wouldn't upset the balance of either the defence or midfield .. I know a real off the wall suggestion, but both Ling and Buckle seem to see something in him..

Re: Cheltenham Reserves Game next week

Manse didn't appear very impressed with the Reserves scoreline "embrassing" according to his Twitter, but he goes on to say need to stop the losing mentality , not just on the pitch is he fast becoming the real driving force of the gulls . Somepeople really grow when given the responsibility whilst others wilt ( Wroe)

What happened between Robbo and the someone on the popside at the end of the game? Looked like Manse had to pull him away ?

Re: Our troubled neighbours ..........

Exactly the point I was trying to make,

The difference in the attitude of people who run both councils is marked. One see the football club as an essential part of the local infrastructure and Torquays don't.

I see Larrieu has said he would take the managers job on. Can't see them being exactly awash with candidates

Re: Our troubled neighbours ..........

I agree Argyle going bust would be for the best , but I don't think it will happen. Especially with their local council bending over backwards to help them, the latest being to buy the ground back off them and lease it back to Argyle, this being the same ground that the council help fund to build if memory serves me correct . Could you see our local council doing that for TUFC ? No .

Yes we know must of them greenies are two sandwiches short of a picnic and the conference would probably do them the world of good, but only after we have got 6 points off them

Re: Torquay United v Rotherham United

What a game, thought we were dead at 0-2 but said next goal was so important , and it proved to be. Make no mistake Rotherham are very good going forward , couldn't work out if we were playing 4 3 3 or a 4 2 3 1 . Eunan appeared to have a free role which suits him, with manse and lathrope doing most of the donkey work. Rene put in a shift and a half today and was my man of the match . Did we deserve to win at the end , not sure. They looked like scoring as much as we did in the second half .
Haven't heard Lings post match comments but the radio said he was critical of some of our defending, which have to agree with.
But all in all great match great excitement

Re: Devon Clubs

I now these takeovers can take some time, but part of me thinks that Plymouth's might not be completed until the 1st September, thus releasing the new owners from having to put up any extra cash to bring in players.. Give them time till Jan to raise the funds if they can? Or get the necessary planning permission for the site
