Ryan Clarke - New Goalie

Read some good reviews from Eastleigh fans and at 35 he's tried, tested and proven at this level, so a nice low risk signing to be our number one.

The team is coming along nicely. Just a left back and right winger and we'll have a first XI sorted.

TUFC 2017/18 Squad

Three years ago we signed Angus MacDonald, Courtney Richards, Toby Ajala and Duane Ofiori-Acheampong after trials. They were amongst our better players and out performed the contracted players we took down with us (Pearce, Harding, Cameron etc). Three of them have either stayed at this level (earnin...

Josh Gowling Signs

Hargreaves was 35 when he signed, and 37 when we were promoted, playing in central midfield too. 33 and on a 12 month deal is not a worry age wise.

Josh Gowling Signs

The reaction from former clubs has been very encouraging. At 33 I doubt he's going to change much so it's a pretty risk free signing compared to previous years. He's a possible captain for the coming season, and at the very least should be an ideal partner to help McGinty develop.

Rowe-Turner to Chester FC

In fairness he wasn't offered a contract and so left the club back in April. Unless there is a change of heart like Myles Anderson and they do re-sign, I wouldn't expect another message about that group of five. Williams confirmed his departure himself via twitter with no official message. Moore and...

TUFC 2017/18 Squad

I think that means he'll have at least two other strong centre backs to compete with. For example if we have McGinty and Gowling then he might not start the season as first choice and so will have lots of work to do to get in the team and stay in it. I don't think it means we'll have 4, 5 or 6 centr...

Transfer Rumours 17/18

Surely Bowman was never a credible signing. He's been playing regularly enough for Motherwell, so why would you give up playing in the SPL in crowds of between 5 000 and 50 000 to come here, given where we are in comparison and finances we could offer. You'd have to be mental to take a pay cut in or...

You have to have played in the League to qualify for a wikipedia entry.
Not true. The pope has one and he was only an amateur.

Sparkes and Verma leave

It does sound like a surprising move, given that he never established himself as first choice here. Having started at centre back he was forced out to right back when we had no-one else and then ended the season filling in where needed. Had Jordan Lee made a better first impression in January, or Ho...

Sparkes and Verma leave

Very sad to see Sparkes leave. He's the best winger we've had for a while and will be tough to replace. He's a great example of the type of players we need to target. We gave him a chance to step up to full time football and he's now got another move, closer to home and presumably with better money....

The Play Offs

If you come 3rd in League One, or 4th in League Two or 2nd in the Conference, you know you're not getting promoted automatically. There's nothing unfair at all about these sides contesting the play-offs. Their league position is based on the whole season (and prize money etc), and to get promoted th...

F A Trophy

I can see both sides of this. In an ideal world we would win every game we play, but I think a lot of the reason why the FA Trophy is so unfavoured is due to its own make-up. For clubs at National League level, the money on offer is not significant, so you have to make the final to make any real mon...

The Play Offs

The play-offs are great, and I'm quite surprised that support for them isn't higher. They keep the season alive for a lot of teams for a lot longer, and for that reason alone are worthwhile. If you are mid table at Christmas, as by definition the most teams are, you aim to scrape into the play-offs....

The Play Offs

Both ties 0-0 at half time. Halifax v Chorley kicked off 15 mins late, and Ebbsleet are down to 10 men after a bad tackle on Josh Rees.

Edit: Chelmsford 1-0 up.
